An Evening of Rest & Relaxation for Seafarers

Rest is important for all of us. It's especially important for seafarers who work long hours in dangerous conditions with very little time off.
Jesus valued physical rest and spiritual rest too. He said, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest." (Matthew 11:28, MSG)
Our R&R evening last year was the best attended event we've done for seafarers in recent memory. More than 40 seafarers showed up and were blessed by free chair massages, smoothies, healthy snacks and good conversation. Some seafarers even feel asleep in the massage chair! That tiredness reminds us of Elijah who found himself exhausted and far from God. God met him and miraculously provided him with food, water and sleep...twice! (1 Kings 19)
Just as God strengthened Elijah for the long journey ahead of him, we are called to love seafarers' and provide for their well-being. Our next R&R event is aimed at reflecting that love and we're hoping for a great turnout again!
To seafarers: Come on by for a chair massage, smoothies, healthy snacks, games and good conversation. Call us for a free pick up at 514.849.3234. Our chapel is open for prayer anytime we're open. On April 25, 2019 we look forward to helping you relax on your night off!
We are located in La Maison des marins on the Grand Quai de Montreal, 200 rue de la Commune ouest, Montreal H2Y 4B2.
