  • Christmas knitting

    Ongoing: Knitting

Each year we give away approximately 1500 Christmas parcels to seafarers docking in the Port of Montreal.

Do you like to knit? All year long we accept your donations of warm clothes (i.e. tuques, scarves, gloves and socks) to add to our parcels. A warm seafarer is a happy seafarer!

  • Day-of-the-seafarer

    Day of the Seafarer

The 2025 Day of the Seafarer will spotlight the need to create safe, inclusive work environments worldwide, paving the way for a new IMO campaign against violence and harassment—persistent issues that impact the well-being and productivity of maritime workers.

Come on by the Seafarers’ Centre for a free buffet dinner.

Past Events

  • Pumpkin Carving

What the seafarers said: “We are Filipino. We’ve carved many things. But we’ve never carved a pumpkin!”

  • Rest & Relaxation

One seafarer said, “I’ve never had a chair massage. I was so relaxed I fell asleep. Can I hug the therapist?”

  • Games Night

Afterwards, one seafarer wrote, “Thanks to mission and a people of the mission, by not just sending postcards via internet, but by doing such wonderful events!!!”

“It is cheeks still sore from smiling and laughing at the Challenger Games night that we decided to hold a collection on board which may go some way in supporting the excellent work you are doing.”
